The Challenge
Adding a Fifth Floor Without Changing the Building
Following a successful 2014 modernization that extended the life of a 30-year-old lift by over a decade, Habib Bank required a completely new elevator by 2025 — this time serving 5 stops instead of 4, to provide access to newly added top-floor staff facilities. The challenge was structural: the additional stop had to be achieved without increasing the building's height or expanding the existing lift-well footprint.
Our Solution
Gearless VVVF MRL Elevator, Engineered Within the Existing Footprint
Our engineering team dismantled the floor slabs covering the original machine-room area to create the height needed for a fifth stop, converting the lift from a conventional Machine Room configuration to a Machine Room-Less (MRL) system. All civil and structural steel works were completed in-house, carefully sequenced to minimize disruption within the fully operational bank branch — resulting in a new 450kg Gearless VVVF Fuji elevator delivering smooth, modern vertical transport across all 5 floors, and extending a partnership with Habib Bank that began with our very first modernization project back in 2014.
